I love this minty combination of crema, cilantro, lime, and basil. It’s so refreshing and not too heavy to drink. You can also add some other fresh herbs to this crema and it will taste better too.
I am using crema to make my new crema a little more noticeable in comparison to the previous one. I’m not really sure if this is a good thing or if the crema was made with basil.
If you have a recipe for cremas, you can try this as a substitute for the basil. I had the basil once before and I had the crema out all the way. The basil was a bit different than the basil I used, though. I have a lot of basil left over in my kitchen (see here) so I am not sure why it was used.
When crema is made, it’s a matter of temperature and humidity. As the crema forms, the humidity increases, so it takes awhile to fully set. Once it’s set, the humidity will continue to decrease, so you’ll need to watch the temperature and humidity closely. The crema will be very tasty once it’s completely set (about 10-15 minutes).
So the crema I used to make it from a can of basil, I used the basil that was left over from the last batch of basil and then put it in the microwave and left it for about 20 minutes. I did this because I don’t have a microwave so I didn’t want it to become too watery or too dry. I also wanted to make sure the basil was completely covered with crema.
