It seems that every time my niece comes down for a visit, she brings me an array of pie goods. I don’t know about you, but I am addicted to pie and have a hankering to try some of the different varieties, which I’m sure will make each visit more enjoyable. It seems like every time we go to Hawaii, we find a new pie shop.
Hawaii is the second-most-populous state in the USA. A pie shop is a bakery, and a baker is someone who prepares a specific type of pie. Hawaii has a dozen of the most popular types. Our favorite is the Hawaiian-style pie, which is a thin, sweet, flaky pie topped with a raspberry-flavored sauce. The other varieties include pineapple-sauced pies, chocolate-sauced pies, and pumpkin-sauced pies.
In Hawaii there is a pie company that makes Hawaiian-style pies, and their secret recipe is one that we’re very excited about. It’s called Hawaiian Pie Company, and they sell their pies in Chinatown. We’re hoping that they might soon have a location in the South Shore.
